2019-20 W-League Predictions – Round 7

It took a 5-0 victory over the first placed team, but our system is finally kind of on board with the Wanderers. They’re still rated last, and Sydney are still top, but the margins are no longer ridiculous in both cases, and they’re not far off falling away.

2019-20 A-League Predictions – Round 12

It was a difficult week for predictions, with two draws and two upset victories – Melbourne Victory pulling out an impressive performance against their rivals (for once) and Central Coast claiming a rare victory against Adelaide. (That is, all Mariners victories are rare. Not necessarily wins over Adelaide, although, by extent…)

Soccer Predictions – 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship, Matches 5 & 6

We fixed up our soccer spreadsheet after finding out that we weren’t properly incorporating new results. The problems of doing everything in Google Sheets, we guess? That said, our predictions are complete and ready for the final matches of the EAFF Championship.

Soccer Predictions – 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship, Matches 3 & 4

The Japanese conceding a late goal may come back to haunt them, considering they now have goal difference to make up. Every chance they can though, and the title chances are neck and neck.

2019-20 A-League Predictions – Round 10

A very bottom-heavy A-League season is emerging – eight games in, and Wellington Phoenix are in the top half with a 3-1-4 record. • The West Asian Football Federation played theirs in August 2019 after several delays (we were embarrassed to discover that we’d been leaving this out of our dataset, thus affecting the ratings)
  • The newly formed Central Asian Football Association hasn’t played a championship yet, although it’s pencilled in to be played in Uzbekistan
  • The South Asian Football Federation last held their championship in 2018, won by the football titans of the Maldives
  • The ASEAN Football Federation’s tournament, which Australia considers beneath it, was won by Vietnam in 2018

And now, it’s time for the East Asian Football Federation.

2019-20 W-League Predictions – Round 4

Our system continues to be incredibly pessimistic about the Western Sydney Wanderers, who are now 3-0 and still only tipped to finish sixth. If they can get another victory, they’ll a) continue to tank our predictions, and b) probably get right up in the leaderboard. Indeed, there’s two epic Sydney v Melbourne games coming up, both of which will be the biggest test yet for the undefeated Sydney sides.
